Our K9, Bacon, is APPDA (American Protection and Patrol Dog Association)-certified to detect microbial volatile organic compounds (mVOCs) associated with actively growing mold, giving us a powerful tool for identifying concerns that may not be visible to the eye. Bacon trains in real-world environments using verified samples—not simply artificial training aids. Our daily rigorous training involves many different mold genera, including Stachybotrys, Chaetomium, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, and Alternaria to recognize mold odors in homes, businesses, and other occupied spaces.
Behind every alert is Meg Healey, Bacon’s handler, who brings more than 19 years of animal-handling experience along with a MICRO (Mold Inspection Consulting and Remediation Organization) certification.
